On Black Friday 2007

She waited until Thanksgiving to mention it, but Linda wanted to go shopping yesterday. I generally avoid leaving the house the day after Thanksgiving, so we had to compromise: she wanted to go at midnight, and we ended up getting to the Tulalip Outlet Mall at about 8am. It was, to be blunt, a complete waste of time.

As is always the case at an outlet mall, there was nothing but stacks of picked over junk that nobody wants - and lots of it was damaged! Needless to say, it was ridiculously crowded. The one thing I wanted to buy didn't work out - Sony had some pretty good deals on digital cameras and Bethany mentioned that she wanted one this year, but after waiting in line for about 20 minutes, we hadn't moved an inch and the line was a couple of hundred feet long. So I just gave up and left.

So, the only money I spent yesterday was on a tank of gas - probably my first fill-up in two months. One good thing did come from the experience though: next year, I will have this as leverage to get out of doing it again.
